VISUAL STORYTELLING — A Multi-Media Group Exhibition by Member Artists of the Chicago Women’s Caucus for Art
Visual Storytelling is an exhibition of women’s art that tells a story.
What are the stories that describe our lives? Is it a narrative or a connection to a myth or literature, or is it images, patterns, and colors that convey our emotions? This exhibition features artwork that tells a story. From the rich tradition of women telling tales through quilting and needlework, bedtime fables, family history, or impressions of our community, the visual arts develop intuitive vocabulary.
Submissions were welcome in a wide variety of media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, collage, assemblage, sculpture (metal, wood, found object, wire, etc.) clay, textile/fiber art, encaustic, printmaking, and photo-based art. This exhibition presents a diverse collection of fine art exploring deeply personal stories.
