Terry Luc

For me, art is rhythm, color, and beauty. It is never timid. It should grab you the way a song does. The greatest compliment about my art that I ever received was when a curator of a group show told me that my art “looked like Jazz.” To me, art should feel almost like a musical experience.”

Terry has been an artist his whole life. His art is characterized by vibrant, bold, complimentary colors that vibrate and draw the viewer in with graceful lines and "s" curves. His influences include his teacher and mentor, artist Ed Paschke, as well as Gil Stone, Frank Frazetta, Gil Elvgren, John W. Waterhouse, and N.C. Wyeth. Most recently, Terry’s renewed interest in the art of Pablo Picasso has inspired him to explore Cubism. Today Terry is most known for his pop-art and cubist-style paintings.

In addition to being an artist, Terry is a bass player in the rocking band Counterpoint, a cycling instructor, and a former football coach. He and his award-winning journalist wife, Karie, live in Northbrook. They have six adult children — all of whom are creative. Terry and his son Gerry recently completed their first mural, for the city of Northbrook, and hope to do more murals together.

All of the art in Terry’s Blue Moon Collection is available for purchase.
