VISUAL STORYTELLING

A Multimedia Group Exhibition

Presented by Member Artists of the Chicago Womens Caucus for Art

Visual Storytelling is an exhibition of women’s art that tells a story.

From the rich tradition of women telling tales through quilting and needlework, bedtime fables, family history, or impressions of our community, the visual arts develop intuitive vocabulary. What are the stories that describe our lives?

Is it a narrative from literature or myth?

Or is it a combination of images, patterns, and colors that convey our emotions?

Submissions were welcome in a wide variety of media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, collage, assemblage, sculpture (metal, wood, found object, wire, etc.) clay, textile/fiber art, encaustic, printmaking, and photo-based art. This exhibition presents a diverse collection of fine art exploring deeply personal stories.
